Mel is a seasoned HR leader with 20+ years of experience, reflecting particular expertise in talent acquisition, learning & development, and coaching. Mel’s professional services-focused background includes team-leadership global roles at Deloitte and KPMG, as well as Baker Tilly (a Top 10 global public accounting and consulting firm). She has also worked with professionals in China while at Kaye Scholer (a firm now part of leading global law firm Arnold & Porter). Most recently, Mel served as Director of Learning at Baker Tilly, during which time she established a mentorship program between the US and India teams.

At KPMG and Deloitte, Mel led campus-wide talent acquisition teams, served as the Northeast DEI Campus Ambassador for Deloitte, and was elected the Recruiting Task Force Leader for KPMG’s Network of Women (KNOW). During her 10+ years at Deloitte, Mel co-led a Global Learning Technology Governance Board, which included the Asia-Pacific region, and also served as a Workstream lead for the firm’s global learning experience platform, impacting 300K+ U.S. & Global employees.
 

Mel holds a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP) designation and is a certified Talent Optimization Consultant through the Predictive Index. Additionally, Mel earned a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. Mel is currently pursuing her Personal and Executive Coaching certification from the College of Executive Coaching and is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She is the founder of Cordelia Consulting and the co-founder of Your Work Friends Media and Podcast.
